Averaging 44 pages, Le Magazine de L'Île-des-Soeurs is one of Canada's best free magazines, with just under 10,000 copies distributed each week.
In Brief
Coverage: l'Îes-des-Soeurs

Foundation
Le Magazine de L'Île-des-Soeurs was founded in 1987, under the leadership of Olaf and Sonia Silva. Fifteen months later, on February 20, 1989, the magazine was sold to Jim Allan, who remained its proprietor for more than 12 years.

The magazine reflects the major preoccupations of l'Îes-des-Soeurs residents. Over the years, topics like forest protection, real estate development - both residential and commercial - and residents' special sense of self have made headlines and inspired many a letter to the editor. Le Magazine often takes the side of the residents in important issues affecting them or their community.

In 2001, Le Magazine de L'Île-des-Soeurs was sold to Transcontinental. Several major changes then ensued. Today, the magazine operates under the leadership of Jean-Guy Marceau, who also oversees Le Messager de Verdun and La Voix populaire.
