Foundation:
Under the leadership of co-owners and co-publishers Nicole Kingsley and Jean-Guy Forest, the first issue of L'Informateur de Rivière-des-Prairies appeared on March 28, 1984, as a continuation of Babillard, which was founded in 1982. It had 16 pages and a circulation of 11,000.

L'Informateur was the first commercial newspaper in Riviere-des-Prairies - a personal achievement for Jean-Guy Forest, the driving force behind many plans and projects for the community's economic and political future. In 1989, the paper was sold to Télémédia, and, in 1995, to Transcontinental.
