Marc-Noël Ouellette has held the position of Senior Vice President for the Newspaper Group since 2006. He's now Senior Vice President, Local Communities Solutions Group, and manages all the Transcontinental newspapers, including 11 dailies and more than 100 weeklies in seven Canadian provinces, as well as the Distribution Group.
Trained as a journalist, Mr. Ouellette joined Transcontinental in 1996 to develop Transcontinental's new weeklies division. Under his guidance, the division has grown from 20 publications with 300 employees to 66 publications with 800 employees, and now distributes more than 2.3 million copies per week.
Previously, Mr. Ouellette had held senior positions in many press associations, including the Association de la Presse Francophone Hors Québec, Hebdos Québec, Réseau Sélect and the Conseil de Presse du Québec. He is a board member of The Canadian Press, ComBase (a pan-Canadian media-readership study) and RecycleMedias.
